  1. Kinins are a group of mediators (that have a range of functions within inflammation. The best known kinins are bradykinin and kallidin made from kininogens (low and high molecular weight) by the enzyme kallikrein. They induce e.g. vasodilation and increased vascular permeability as are involved in pain as well. Besides that, the precursor kininogen, is intimately involved in coagulation and fibrinolysis.
